Tipping Etiquette
Restaurants
A 10% service charge may be included, in which case you can leave an extra $1-2; if it's not included, leave a 10% tip or more.
Hotels
A 10% service charge is usually included, but give porters $0.50-1/bag; tip cleaning staff directly or in a clearly marked envelope and tip the concierge $4-5 if he is extra helpful.
Guides & Drivers
Tip guides $20-50/day, tip drivers $-45; tip taxi drivers 10%.
Dollars Accepted?
Yes! Dollars are considered better quality money than the Filipino peso.
*If you get stopped by the police, stick 200 pesos (about $4) in your I.D.
*Men in blue uniforms who help you park your car should get 10-20 pesos (about 20-50 cents)
